July 23: Spa Day in Tuba Village.
Today we gave pedicures and manicures to some lovely ladies.
Several from our team treated 20 women to a day of pampering. It's an idea that Rachel (who started Dress a Girl) incorporated into the HOPE4KIDS mission trips. It's a wonderful way to treat special ladies selected from their communities. The women sign up ahead time but they are also chosen by local Hope4Kids staff. Maybe it's a single mother, or someone going through a hard time, or it could be a strong woman in the community being honored for their leadership.
I enjoyed treating Jenna to a pedicure & manicure.
She & her baby are a ray of sunshine!!
It was a relaxing atmosphere with much joy!
These ladies love to sing... an expression of their thankfulness.
Thankful for this day.
Thankful for Jenna.
Thankful for connecting women from opposite sides of the world.
Each lady got to take home their wash basin for daily use plus a new scarf, bars of soap, lotion, nail polish & a few other items. Yay!
I'm sure this day was the high point of their lives...it will be a day they will always remember just as you will always remember Jenna!
ReplyDeleteQuite a special experience for us & them.
