Hello Rwanda!
Hello Bob!
On July 26th I flew from Entebbe, Uganda to Kigali, Rwanda.
On July 25th Bob flew from Phoenix, Arizona to Kigali, Rwanda.
We both arrived at the Kigali airport on July 26th within 10 minutes of each other. :-)
Great to be together in Africa again.
Hello Todd!
Our friend (who I've known since my college summer days) picked us up from the airport and drove us 90 minutes to their home & farm. Love their banana trees!
Hello Andria & Eliza.
Todd's wife and baby girl.
Hello Ella!

Hello Zeb!

Hello Esther!

Hello Buddy!

Breakfast waffles by Todd. During the 4 days we spent in Rwanda with Todd & Andria we enjoyed fresh cow's milk, fresh eggs, pancakes, homemade pizza & other yummy homemade meals.
A tour of the farm...
They have cows.
And cute baby calves.
They have chickens.
A beautiful view & bananas galore!
Great looking crops and lovely staff that cares for the plots.

Ellie with her classmates... all with sweet smiles!
There is a sewing class on property. And a new church too!
Bob and I were so impressed with what Todd and Andria and staff have accomplished over these 8 years. Andria oversees the teachers and school principal. Todd oversees the building projects, the farm and fundraising. Both Todd & Andria work hard to uplift this community with a great school, top teachers, nice church & more. Next step is adding a secondary school. City of Rwanda also has a wonderful student sponsorship program.
Bob and I took an evening walk up the road. We quickly met some friendly neighbor kids.
Such a gorgeous night with perfect temperatures.
Local guy transporting his crop up the hill to his home.
Local girl on her way to get water.
We are so happy to be in Rwanda... such a pretty country!
We are so happy to be with friends... Todd & Andrea are awesome!
More pics from Rwanda tomorrow.
Todd and his family should be so proud of what they have accomplished in 8 years..the gentlemen bringing home the bananas has a challenging job...I don't if we as Americans would be able to do this!
ReplyDeleteTrue!! I think it was a bag of corn by the way. :-) That would be so hard and there were many others doing the same thing by bicycle.
