Bob & I enjoying the weather change; cloudy skies & cooler temps! Only 82 degrees at 7am instead of 92.
South Mountain towers in the distance & us looking very tan...in part due to our hot sunny days & in part due to the photo filter. :-)

Our shower is done & we love it!
The only thing left is to order the clear glass for the front. We are still trying to decide if we want a hinged glass door or only one large glass panel with an opening on the left to make it a walk in.
I like the accent tiles & the shelves for shampoo & soap.
After the glass is installed we'll be picking out new cabinets, sinks & flooring.

Painting old window frames to make some decorative home art. A good inside project on another hot day!

Bob taking off out of San Francisco airport this morning. That's the Bay Bridge on the right. The Golden Gate Bridge is under the clouds. Cool photo!
Then Bob flew over Catalina Island on his way to Mexico City. Bob & I along with some friends did the Catalina Island Triathlon there (November 2004). I remember it had an easy swim followed by a hilly bike course & ended with a flat run. I had a good day and ended up winning 1st female over all! I think the tougher bike segment helped because I'm not a fast runner. :-) I don't think we've been back to Catalina Island since but I'd love to go back. We really had a good time!

My best idea when it's 112 out.
Harley's best idea when it's 112 out. :-)

Between a Sacramento layover last week & San Francisco today Bob's getting some good time with his parents. Glad they are able to make these drives to meet Bob for breakfast, lunch or a walk.
And these two can never get enough of airplanes! Pat snapped this pic of them watching the planes take-off. :-)
PS: Bob flew to Chicago tonight but goes back to San Francisco tomorrow. His folks are picking him up to spend the afternoon at their home. Nice!

I have boxes & boxes of photos in the craft room & someday they need to be put in albums! Today I thought it was neat to come across this old family photo. I think this was taken in 1997 or 1998.
Back row: Brent, Carol, Dad, Mom, Monte, Jane, Joan, Rod
Front: Jim, Curt
And here we are 19 years later. Photo taken 7/2/16
I wish we had dad in the middle of this photo too. He's always in our hearts.
Fun to come across an old Meneely Christmas pic! I think this may be 2001?
Speaking of Christmas...Bob & I in NYC (Dec 2001)
San Carlos, Mexico. May 2002
I thumbed through a few more pics but then had to get back to finding what I came in the craft room for in the first place. :-)

Small group of us getting in 40 miles before temperatures climbed over 100. The rest of the day Bob & I were either indoors or in our pool. It's 8pm now & still hot...106 degrees! :-/

This week in addition to watching the Bachelorette & old episodes of Ally McBeal I have been watching the Republican National Convention. I will watch the Democratic National Convention too (next week). I listened to almost all the RNC main speakers & was very impressed with the children of Donald Trump. They were eloquent, poised & in my opinion gave good speeches. No matter where you stand politically...I just hope we will form our own opinions & look beyond social media headlines. There is so much I don't know regarding politics yet one of my top gripes is the often misleading media (L or R depending which station). Come November I hope the people have chosen someone who can unify the country, increase safety in the USA & world and make positive change for all Americans.

Planning out this year's Colorado 14'ers! Bob & I will be heading to Colorado in a couple weeks to bag some more 14ers! I've been reading parts of the above book & the 14er.com website to plan out the peaks & routes. In the last 3 years I've checked off 21 Colorado fourteeners & Bob 11. This year we'll be around the Aspen & Buena Vista area from August 5 to 19. Looking forward to those treks & having a few friends & family join us.

Last night's Phoenix storm. Photo credit to AZ Central news.
Another AZ Central photo...South Mountain getting dumped on!
Here was my view of the storm from our home at South Mountain. Glad we had rain but it did come in fast & furious. Winds were strong & many area trees fell over or branches broke off.

Is it Christmas?!!? Or maybe I went a little crazy on Amazon Prime last week! :-) Funny that everything arrived in the mail today. #earlychristmasgifts #shopping #presents

PS: Though it may look like it...I didn't order a box of ice cream sandwiches (& especially since it's 108 here)!
PPS: The boxes appear bigger in this photo than they are. Lol. :-)

This morning's ride from Lifetime Fitness. Fun group getting in 45 miles before it's too hot. Bob rode with us too (he took the pic).
Speaking of Bob...he got to hang out with his folks yesterday on a layover in Sacramento. They drove up from Los Altos to take Bob out for lunch. Based on this photo I think they had milkshakes too! :-)
Thanks Pat & Bob...I know you all had a great time!

Bob's day through the fish eye lens...
Selfie with his 737.
Browsing Grand Central Station during a short layover in NYC.
Taxi, taxi, taxi, taxi...
Selling fruit & veggies in The Big Apple.
Back in the cockpit getting ready to fly to Dallas.
Looked like a good work day...fun perspective!

I met baby Ellie tonight! She is 1 month old now & such a doll.
Ellie has a lot of dark hair & pretty petite features. Sweetie Pie!
At this age she is all about eating & sleeping. So cute when she smiled while in dreamland.
Congratulations again to new parents, Abbie & Mike. They are doing great & have adjusted to parenthood very well. Tomorrow they fly to Iowa for two weeks to see family & friends in Des Moines.

Too tired to unpack & too hot to take Harley for a walk (yet). But the heat feels like home!!

Thankful for the 5 weeks we enjoyed at Bob's parents cabin. We love Tahoe & it was awesome filling our days with biking, hiking, & swimming in the cool mountain air. Glad we could see CA family while there & get to IA too.

Here are a few random photos from Jacey & Whitney's wedding day...

My Aunt Sonja (holding Keelan), Jacey the groom, & my Uncle Dick.
Sisters: Mary, Isabel, Sonja
Cute flower girls!
Loved hanging out with Riley again. She is such a sweetie pie!
More of the gals all dressed up.

Today was our travel day from Tahoe to Phoenix. Tomorrow we'll be home!

W.I.N.D.Y.

Evidence that today was very windy...gusts up to 50mph! Today Bob & I did the Death Ride. We completed 4 mountain passes, 85 miles & 11,000 feet of climbing. It was tough! We opted to NOT do Carson Pass (the 5th pass) for 3 reasons: 1) The wind was crazy tough & a bit unsafe with the strong gusts! 2) Carson Pass was not closed to traffic like the other 4 roads were...it made us concerned about the fast traffic 3) 85 miles & 11,000' was no joke & my neck was killing me. I was bonked & ready to call it a day!
3,000 cyclists do this ride...it's a great event. It was a success for us! Afterwards we went to Grover Hot Springs to soak our aching muscles in the hot water. Awww!

I love where my bike takes me! #carpediem

Morning kayak on Lake Tahoe.
Dropped in at Zephyr Cove. Gorgeous clear water!
And interesting boulders to navigate around.
We cruised north along the shoreline checking out the waterfront cabins.
Glad we used the kayaks again before heading back to Phoenix in a few days.
