Me: After the 5 of us went on a morning walk, the folks got busy with projects. They always do when they come to visit. Here Bob and Bob are cutting out cushions for our outdoor patio chairs.

Pat made me this cute craft table skirt to hide the stuff I store underneath. :-) I love it!

We rewarded our hard (and fun) day's work with Rudy's BBQ. This place just opened in our area and it is GOOD!

PS: We may have had DQ treats afterwards.

Me: This morning was the speedster run. Bob and Bob and 20 other colorful old cars took off for the hills.

Cruising the open roads with blue skies for 4 and 1/2 hours.

 Judging by these smiles I'm pretty sure these two guys had a good time!

While the boys were racing Pat and I had a great time shopping. We hit 2 garage sales and 2 antique shops. I scored at a yard sale taking home 9 old glass windows with hardware and an old wheel barrel. Total spent: $27. I have big plans for turning the windows into paintings and the wheel barrel into a flower box.

Me: This morning Bob and I did the "Four Peaks Forty". That's just the made up name I gave our 40 mile training ride at Four Peaks Mountain. See 4 peaks in the distance?

We went with Jimmy (in photo) and our other friend Brian. It was a tough ride on dirt road with 5500 feet of climbing. Glad it was pretty!

Based on how I felt it's good I didn't race the Whiskey 50 in Prescott today. The Whiskey 50 is a fun event (we did it last year) but the effect of my virus a few weeks ago = not enough fitness today. 

After "4 Peaks 40" Bob and I drove to Pinetop, AZ to meet up with Pat and Bob. They are here for  a Model T Speedster event.

The pine trees and cool temps are refreshing! Bob and Bob took a quick spin and then we enjoyed visiting over a delicious dinner at Charlie Clark's Steak House.

Me: Harley's night...

First she hunted bunnies on the golf course. 

Then she shopped for kitchen appliances. This slate finish is the new stainless steel. Harley votes for it.

Me: Bob is back! He had a good trip and now he's home for a week. We have some fun things planned including spending time with Bob's folks who are coming to visit.

Me: I rearranged our living room a bit. I like the piano on the south wall under Penny, our colorful peacock. :-) Found Penny at Pier One and think she's cool. Still in search of a curio cabinet that would replace the cabinet on the right. Tiling of the downstairs bath starts next week. The rest of the main floor to follow. Thinking about keeping the real wood in the piano room (would sand and refinish). What do you think?

Bob was in Jamaica today and he comes home tomorrow! :-)

Martin: The four of us tried out a Spanish cafe in King's Cross for lunch as Ruth had the day off. 

Me: Our neighbor, Patti's blooming cactus. 18 flowers! Beautiful.

Spent the afternoon scouring Craig's list for a curio cabinet. I found one and bought it, all the way up in north phoenix. I had to borrow James and his truck to get it. It was a lot of work to bring this 6'10" glass cabinet home. And now that it's home, I don't like it anymore. :-(  Maybe I'll feel differently about it tomorrow. It's currently outside so I can clean it up more. Good price but not if I have to resell it. Bummer.

Me: Harley and I went to the Gilbert Antique Mall this afternoon. We saw a lot of cool things including this retro dining table. I LOVE it. I want it. But we don't have a place for it. Plus someone already had it on hold (or I may have bought it anyway). :-)

Me: Bob is Bermuda! I wish I was too. :-)

He flew there last night and had all day today to relax and explore. Fun!

Looks like a beautiful vacation destination.

Martin: First match of the soccer season for Adrian.

Me: Mom and I did some Craig's List and garage sale shopping. This dresser from Craig's List is going to be our new bathroom vanity for the downstairs powder room. It's from 1959 and in great condition. James said he can rig up the plumbing to put a vessel sink on top and a faucet coming out of the wall. The Tile on the floor is what we picked out for the bathroom and pantry floor. Bob and I are excited about it. We found the yellow lamps at a garage sale. Don't care for the shades but the lamps are fun. Not sure where they will be in the house.

Here is the wood looking tile we decided on for the rest of the main floor. We like the color tones and character. Excited about this too. Bonus: I think it will hide dirt well. ;-)
