Me: 32 Vitesse members rode around the mountain and 13 of us climbed to the towers. Enjoyed the overcast morning.

Me: Diamond in the rough. Photo from my walk with Harley this afternoon.
Bob is hanging out with his family in California today. That is a nice benefit of being a pilot who gets a 24 hour layover in San Francisco!

Me: This is a table that I picked up from the side of the road a few days ago. Someone was getting rid of it for FREE. I grabbed it, put it in our garage & had Bob do a minor fix on 2 corners. Today I advertised it on Craig's List & within a couple hours it sold for $45.00! It didn't make us rich but anytime you find $$ lying on the road it's a good day. :-)

Martin: A shame you didn't get to see the baseball coverage on TV. We even appeared on the big screen, so you would have got a close-up of the four of us. I was really half & half about who to go for at the baseball game. Good to see that the support was not really only one sided & there were plenty of Dbacks caps/ tops about. I wish the finally score line had been against the Dodgers instead of the Dbacks but Australia played much better than on Thursday evening. Commiserations to all Arizonians - including those who don't follow the baseball (not mentioning any names to protect the guilty). Totally enjoyable evening - even the walk back to the car at about 10.45pm. Daniel, who is not into watching any sport, even made the comment that he had a good time & he was asking Adrian the rules throughout the match. Pity it's unlikely to happen in the future.
Me: We still have Erik around so we talked him into mountain biking early. Nice not to have the wind or the heat like yesterday afternoon's ride!

Martin: Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Australia continued...
Homerun plus one pleased spectator.
Fantastic atmosphere and a night to remember. First and last time I think we will see the Diamondbacks playing in Sydney.
Sorry, should not really include this one but...
Me: More biking for Bob and I. Today we rode with Erik who is Bob's good friend from TWA days. He is in town for work (Erik now flies for Pacific Railroad out of Omaha). Fun day hanging out and catching up with the latest on Erik, his wife Amy and their kids Lily, Mac and Will. They are an on the go family. Love that they are all athletic and artsy too.

Martin: More pics of the Diamondbacks in Sydney.
Field full as the bases are loaded.
24 inch hot dog that disappeared rather quickly when divided between four.

More game photos tomorrow with final score.
Me: Bob and Highly, 40 miles into our 50 mile ride to Bartlett Lake. We had perfect temps, smooth roads, minimal traffic, and lots of climbing which all made for a great training day!

Martin: Arizona Diamondback playing in Sydney, Australia.
Me: Me and mom, 86 years old and hiking trails. Special times!

Martin: Sydney Cricket Ground. Arizona Diamondbacks playing Australia in the second warm-up match before the Opening Series.

Me: Live your life like a dog.
On warm days, lie on the grass, smell the fresh air and take it all in! :-)

Martin: Supposed to get some rain soon.
Bob: "Wish you were here!"
Me: "Wish I were there too!"

Martin: Adrian went shopping in the city today and came back with a Dbacks cap autographed by Miguel Montero. Just in time for the exhibition game tonight between the Dbacks and Australia, as long as the rain stays away.
Me: This is an Ocotillo.
 With beautiful orange blossoms.
It's one of my favorite cacti.

Me: Bob and I had a nice surprise on the mountain when we ran into Dot. Dot is our friend, Kimo's mom and she lives in Hawaii. It was October last year when Dot and Kimo's dad hosted a wonderful Hawaiian wedding weekend for Kimo and Julie. Dot is in Phoenix for a week. Fun that we got to see her!

Me: Tennis Tuesday with Mike and Abbie. They are showcasing the items we ante up for the matches (marshmallows, pizza crust mix, nutter butter cookies & a can of soup). :-)
Pretty sunflower!
Our neighbor has several and they are growing tall above our backyard wall for us to enjoy too!

Martin: Not impressed with me taking a photo at this time. Two firsts for Adrian - his first car and washing a car for the first time without being coerced into doing so.
 Me: Sticks.
Not too exciting but it was still a pretty night for a walk with Harley.
Please don't hug the cactus. :-)

Martin: Supporting the US economy. The local store had Californian mandarins for sale and they tasted sweet.
Me: Mike, Abbie, April and I hiked Picacho Peak this morning.
It's a 4 mile trek in Picacho State Park (1 hour drive south of Phoenix on the way to Tucson).
Several sections are equipped with cables that are necessary for climbing up & down the trail.
Nice temps and pretty views!
My nieces and nephew are awesome hiking buddies.
Pointing to the top of Picacho Peak.
On the top of Picacho! Lunch & photo time.
Summit shot.
Woot woot. We did it. :-)
