Our last day in Amsterdam was rainy so we didn't get to rent bikes to cruise around on 2 wheels like we had planned. Even so...it was an awesome day!
We went shopping in "The Nines". This is an area filled with specialty shops & lovely boutiques. I enjoyed this artist (in photo) & her work. She paints and turns her designs into fabrics, lamps, dinnerware and all kinds of fun items.
We found a cheese museum (yep...a museum about cheese) and sampled a good bit of it.
Seemed there was a cheese shop around every corner. We stopped in many (we love cheese)!
Then it was off to the Van Gogh museum. Here is one of Van Gogh's famous paintings; "Sunflowers". I believe he has done around 5 versions of this painting. Pretty cool to see his work up close - the thickness of the paint was so interesting.
PS: Charlie...I bet you would have enjoyed browsing Van Gogh's work!
Van Gogh's Almond Blossoms. Love this one.
Also liked this one; The Harvest.
Well, that wraps up our time in Amsterdam. It was soooo good.
Off to Africa now...
I will share this post with Charlie...looks like you had a wonderful time in Amsterdam...did you get your fill of cheese???
ReplyDeletehahaha...we love cheese. We had a good sampling of many kinds & bought a couple different ones that we used on picnics. :-)
