We're off to see what we can see!
I AMsterdam...
Canals & pretty flowers.
Canals & cute cafes.
More canals with old and modern houseboats.
And yes, another canal and "The 7 bridges". This is a popular photo op from our boat tour where you can see 7 arched bridges down the canal from the 1st bridge. Maybe you can make them all out (if you click on the photo to enlarge). Maybe.
Can't forget the canals lined with bikes and picture perfect buildings. LOVE!
Amsterdam is just plain charming. Around every corner the loveliness overwhelms.
We found sweet shops & bakeries.
Fruit stands too.
But we mostly stopped in bakeries. :-)
We never tired of watching the bikers.
Or in this case the movers. Fun observing these guys on moving day. Check out the pulley system that EVERY home or building has to move furniture. As you can imagine...the stairways inside are just too steep & narrow.
We found the Heineken Brewery but instead of taking a tour of the place we settled in a cute pub nearby to put our feet up and sample one of Holland's favorite drinks.
To say the least we had a FULL day. We even strolled the Red Light District late evening out of curiosity. Oddly enough there are group tours to see this area (& give the history). Google it if you don't know about it. :-/
We ended the night with a little deck time on our houseboat. What a treat with the lighted bridges, streetlights & glowing windows all around. I think we "heart" Amsterdam already!!
Your pics are amazing...we were wondering if you would see the "Red Light District"...famous area for the wrong reasons!
