Look who's here!! Charlie & Karen arrived last night & we're thrilled to have them staying with us for a few days. It's been 4 years since their last visit to see us. We took a drive to downtown Mesa (Mesa Arts Center above) this afternoon.
Downtown Mesa had several painted pianos on display & were available to play. Karen is a good pianist!!
We walked through an art gallery & also admired the street murals (plus some shopping in a local antique store).
Back in our neighborhood we were happy to find a beautiful cactus bloom in front of the Mini Mansion. We had been bummed early this morning when 2 cactus blooms & 4 buds had been eaten by javelina in the middle of the night (it was on a cactus outside our backyard gate). We were anticipating all it's beauty only to be so disappointed that the javelina made complete pigs of themselves!
Well this little guy kinda made up for the javelina incident. I just love these giant white flowers!

Later we tested the "My Water Broke" game. I'm hosting Abbie's baby shower on Sunday & one of the games is to freeze plastic babies in ice cubes, all the guests get a couple baby ice cubes & when anyone's baby breaks out of the ice cub & sinks to the bottom you say "My Water Broke!" and win the prize. Goofy & weird I know. :-/
PS: Ken joined the 4 of us for dinner out tonight. Lovely evening!
We were so happy to see Jane and Bob again...none of us could believe that it has been 4 years since we were there...so happy Ken could join us for dinner!
ReplyDelete3 & 1/2 years! haha. But still...where has the time gone?! Wow!! So great to have you back in Phoenix. We packed our days with a variety of good things. A little crazy at times :-/ Thanks for your generosity and thoughtful gifts too. Love you guys!
