Rod with his successful Walnut girl's BB team (1984). Rod took them to State more than once!
Rod (1987) with 2 of his star BB players, Cami & Jan. He took their Elk Horn-Kimballton team to State too. Jan was named to the All-American Team for girls high-school BB. Cami & Jan remained close friends with Rod after high-school, talking with him frequently. Rod & Kathy have traveled to visit Cami in Las Vegas where she is an executive at a nice resort. Rod would see Jan more often at The University of Iowa BB & football games (which he loved to attend).

Tony & Rod together again!! This is from August 2016 when Tony made a surprise visit to Rod to help him coach his Jr. High team for a day. Rod took on this job recently. Even after retiring, Rod never stopped teaching (subbing) or coaching kids!
Here is Rod with those kids in his long-term substitute teaching position (Dec 2016).
And here are many of those kids again (the boys team). This photo was after Rod passed away and when Robby (Rod's son - back right) & Chris (Tony's son - back left) showed up to help coach a practice & talk to the boys about Rod & how much he loved coaching them. Wow!! So special for these young guys. BTW: Chris is a high-school BB coach in Iowa and he had hired Rod for this position. And Robby is a high school boy's BB coach in Bolivar, Missouri.
The school put this up in their hallways last week! :-)

Me with Jan (R), Kim (left), Shannon (middle) on Tuesday. We all appreciated Jan speaking at Rod's funeral & Kim & Shannon coming to share their love & memories. They sure were fun EH-K teammates & friends!
Thanks for sharing these pictures...we only met Rod once, but we both could tell what a special brother he was to you...he made a lasting impression on every person he came in contact with.
