Hokitika is now our favorite NZ west coast town. We took a break from driving to walk around this artsy place. Hokitika is known for having the best quality jade in New Zealand. There were many studios you could tour & create your own jewelry.
Hokitika has a dark sand beach full of smooth rock & washed up driftwood.
The locals created their town name out of the sticks as a popular photo spot.
So pull up a concrete chair & stay awhile. :-)
Again beautiful...love the flat smooth stones...Charlie and I would have had to bring one home...did you???
