Martin: Daniel after getting his provisional driver’s licence. Now it’s time to save for a car.
Me: We (Wendy, Sue & I) made it to Colorado late last night. We are staying in Ouray with our friends, Elizabeth & Kirk for the weekend. Elizabeth took us on a beautiful hike today beyond Owl Pass & into Wetterhorn Basin. Chimney Rock in photo above.
It was the most spectacular display of wildflowers I've ever seen!!
This flower is Elephant Head. See the trunks of the elephants sprouting out.
A closer look at my new favorite flower!

Elizabeth leading us on the Wetterhorn Trail.
Entering Uncompahgre Wilderness.
Mountain daisies? Just guessing - don't know their name.
Pink Paint Brush flowers. Also love these!
The 3 Arizonans; Sue, Wendy & I.
The pretty Colorado Columbine. CO state flower.
Blue Bells were plentiful.
Further into our hike we can see waterfalls ahead.
Love the lavender!
Many Mountain Lupines.
Thank you for this wonderful trek, Elizabeth!! I would definitely come back to this basin again to explore more!
