Me: Recap of Windom Peak hike (August 15, 2015)
It started out like yesterday; a steep climb to Twin Lakes & then mountain goats
They are so interesting to watch.
And they think we're interesting to watch too. :-)
What a sweet baby goat!
 Twins maybe?
Onward! This time to the east of Twin Lakes. Yesterday's hike to Eolus Pks took us west.
No way but up!
And in no time (okay it took some time) we made it to the top.
There's the survey marker!

3rd 14'er for John & Jenn. Congratulations!!
Holding a 14'er sign AND a Birthday sign for Bob.
Happy Birhtday, honey! Love celebrating on a mountain top!
Windom has unique large boulder building blocks. Made for a cool photo of John.
John & Jenn enjoying the view. BTW: John won the milkshake contest for Windom Peak. He guessed 9 other hikers would be on the summit while we were there. I think it was exactly 9. Nice! We'll pay up in Phoenix. :-)
Looking north.
Looking west.
This is one of my favorite photos (thanks for taking, John)!
Tree pose on the top of Windom Peak.

After some food, photos & fun on the summit we all headed down. We split ways at the Windom saddle. John & Jenn hiked to camp & then out of Chicago Basin to catch the train. Bob & I traversed from the saddle towards Sunlight Peak to climb it.
Pics from Sunlight Peak tomorrow.

  1. Another day in the mts. of CO....can't believe the rocks, and how they are placed like someone did it....I liked the goats too!

  2. Thanks, Karen! The goats were our favorite part. Though we've seen a mountain goat or two on a couple other 14'ers we've never see this many and so often!! And so close!
