Me: If you saw a sign on the side of a road directing you a few miles off route to see Dinaosaur Tracks would you stop? On our drive home from Page we saw a homemade billboard: "DINOSAUR TRACKS. 4 miles. Turn left."
So we did!
For a small donation we got a 20 minute walking tour from this friendly local. And to our surprise…the dinosaur tracks were awesome (and real)! Check out the feet imprints from a Velociraptor.
And smaller Velociraptor tracks all around. We saw cute baby dinosaur tracks too. :-)
Velociraptors are carnivors and were the bad dinosaurs in the movie "Jurassic Park".
We saw a fossilized crocodile (above pic), fossilized dinosaur eggs & some other fossilized dinosaur bones.
It was really cool to see the huge track of a T-Rex.
The imprint was deep & they had outlined the track with rocks for better viewing. All of these tracks & fossils were discovered in 1942 when the highway was first built. The Navajo family we met live a couple miles away & give daily tours. They also had some lovely jewelry & trinkets for sale.

Of course big dinosaurs make big dinosaur poop. Fossilized proof of dinosaur pie. :-)
If you are ever driving in the area between Page & Flagstaff, be sure to stop by.
It's pretty neat!
WOW...that was interesting...I'm sure you are happy that you listened to the sign!
