September (Harley)

Harley is sad when she has to visit The Vet. :-( Bob and I don't like going to the vet much either but especially under this circumstance... Harley has cancer. :-( We were so sad to find this out after we returned from Africa. It's bladder cancer and though Harley looks good & seems to feel good the Vet's prognosis is only a few weeks to 6 months. UGH! I can't stand the thought of life without our best baby girl. We started Harley on cancer medicine & 3 chemo treatments (which she tolerates well). Those 2 things CAN help to slow the tumor growth (fingers crossed). So far Harley acts like herself; eager for daily walks and has a healthy appetite. We are so thankful for that! As long as Harley is happy & pain free... we are happy.
Harley still likes going to Einstein's for coffee &bagels!
She still calls shotgun for our car rides.
She tolerates her mom dressing her up.
She looks adorable with a new haircut.
And she still uses "The Pout" to get a treat.
Harley loves to go shopping... she helped me pick out this new rug.
And a new rug for our piano room too.
Thanks Harley... I like your style.
It's true that Harley is an older dog (13.5 years now). We still hope she can beat the odds and reach 14 or more. You never know... she's special. No matter the time left we will enjoy each day with our loving pup.

  2. Thank you so much, Karen! We certainly think she is extra special... but we are biased parents :-). We keep enjoying each day with Harley Girl.
