It's October! Halloween month! Thanks to my sister-in-law M for the tip on where to buy Yoga Skeleton. He's perfect for me!
Speaking of my sister-law... here is her Halloween family photo. This is just the BEST... love the homemade zombie costumes. They must frame this one for over the fireplace mantle! We miss you guys as it's been way too long since we've gotten together.
Thanks to Facebook, phone calls & texting we can keep up on their activities. Both girls are rock'n cross-country season!
Soooo proud of them & their friends for working hard & having fun!
Happy birthday to Rose, Marie and Pat (Wela). All 3 have birthdays in October! This photo was in CA celebrating Wela's special day with family. Love you all!

Congratulations to Johnson!!! He and 29 students completed a 5 day trek to the top of Kilimanjaro. Summit day was October 29, 2018. This was his 1st time to the roof of Africa. Johnson's 3 previous times on the mountain was working as a porter so he (& other porters) only go as high as the last camp below the summit (16,000 ft). This trek was a huge accomplishment especially because the conditions were unpredictable & dangerous with extra strong winds & extreme cold. Johnson told us later that out of 300 clients (hiking with various guide companies) that only 14 made the summit that day. It is always better to turn around and be safe than to push to the top and risk injury or worse.
We know Johnson and his group are great hikers but we still worried. Now we know what our parents, family & and friends felt like last year when Bob and I were hiking Kilimanjaro!
This success for Johnson certifies him as a head mountain guide for Kilimanjaro and other mountains. In addition to this trek Johnson also completed a month of mountain guiding classwork at Mweka College. This certification is a requirement for all guides in Tanzania.

As for hiking in Arizona... winds are calm and temps are mild. Our high point today was around 1,500 feet - LOL. Enjoying an evening hike with Harley & Bob.
Enjoying a morning hike with Olivia.
Trunk or Treak at our church with Ellie. And a throw back October photo (1979 I think).
Nieces: Dana, Danielle, Janna and Dawn and baby nephew, Robby. Fun memory!!!!!
A new but old bedspread that my mom had in her house. I brought it home from Iowa and kinda like it's retro feel in our guest room. Plus it was my mom's. :-)
A little of The Arts in my life. Out with friends, Olivia & Shawna to attend the high school musical; Little Shop of Horrors. Shawna's son had the lead role as Seymour. He was great and the whole show was so entertaining.
Love'n October.
Love the pictures and the bedspread that your mother made is beautiful...it looks good in our bedroom when we visit! Congrats Johnson and your hike to the top..yes now you know how we worried about you and Bob when you did the same hike!
