Baby Jane

Congratulations to Raymond (above) & his wife on the arrival of their precious baby girl.
Raymond (left) was our head guide last year (October 2017) on Kilimanjaro.
Raymond was an amazing guide and we stayed in contact with him through Facebook after our hike. We also saw him twice when we were visiting Johnson's grandparents in August. Raymond, his wife and 2 little boys (8 & 6) are also from Marangu. They are good friends and neighbors of Johnson's family. Raymond was also a good friend and mentor to Rogers. Raymond really helped Rogers family in their time of grieving and funeral preparations for Rogers.
Raymond took great care of me when I became sick on the mountain on Day 6. He sent me down the mountain in good hands with Rogers and Leonard. Thank you, Raymond.
Raymond then escorted Bob to the top of Kilimanjaro the next day. A safe and successful summit!! Thank you, Raymond.
When we visited Raymond this year he told us that he & his wife were expecting a baby girl any day. We were so excited for this news. When we were traveling with Johnson in Malaysia I received a photo (above) along with a message announcing that their precious daughter had arrived. He also texted that they named their daughter, JANE after ME!!!!!!! :-) In Raymond's message he said "Thank you for your beautiful name, Jane." I started crying. Wow... what a surprise and honor!!!! Bob & Johnson were just as excited to hear about Baby Jane. :-)
1 week later Jane was baptized.
The name Jane means: God's gracious gift
Such a little doll. Love her pretty baptism dress.
One month later Johnson went to visit Baby Jane and family.

I wish Bob and I could hold little Jane too... she already is growing so fast! Bob and I sent a gift from the USA for Jane. Thanks to Johnson for delivering it in person. We sent a new blanket, a cute stuffed elephant and some fun clothes (including a dress made by Pat).

We're going to have fun seeing photo updates on little Jane. And someday we'll get to meet her in person! Welcome to the world, Jane!!!! God loves you and so do we.
I just looked up the date that Young Jane was born; August 11th.
It was August 11, 2000 that my dad passed away. That is a beautiful coincidence.
