May 7th: Our hike out...

That was our last view of beautiful Havasu Falls before we walked 2 miles to the village. We had gotten an early start from the campground (6:30am) to beat the heat. 9 miles ahead of us to the rim.

At the village Stacy finally got the Gatorade he had been craving for 2 days! :-)

Off we go...keeping a good and steady pace.

We took regular breaks but all 8 of us were feeling good. 

So lucky we had cloudy skies & cool temps.

The mule trains were right on schedule taking up hiker's backpacks.

This poor horse lost it's gear as it slipped under it's belly. It took the Supai guide a little time to get the situation fixed. I held the horse's reins while he adjusted the bags. I felt useful. :-)

And then there it is...VICTORY! Mike makes it to the top!
