On November 5th we left Kilimanjaro airport at 1:00am. We arrived Istanbul, Turkey for a short layover but had some travel difficulties with our connecting flight to Amersterdam. We luckily found another flight that would land us in Brussels. This worked fine for us. It was a LONG day of flying but we eventually landed late night in Belgium (minus our 3 bags that didn't make the flight). We found a hotel & had a great night's sleep.
PS: Sometimes flying standby has it's problems. :-)

We rented a car the next day (11/6) and leisurely started our driving tour towards Rotterdam. Our main stop was in Bruge.
Bruge is a historical town with many canals.
And many chocolate shops!
Old brick buildings & interesting architecture down every street.
Tea shops, beer breweries & waffle houses...we tried it all!
Bruge was such a charming town!
And a needed place to put our feet up and slow down our pace. Awwww. :-)
After your adventures I'm sure it was good to put your feet up and relax!
