White Water Rafting!
Scott, Bob & I had a fun morning rafting the Arkansas River & we joined a boat full of Iowa family. My cousin, Harrison was our rafting guide! Harrison will be a senior at Grinnell College in Iowa. This is his 2nd summer working for River Runners out of Buena Vista. His grandma, Janet & my mom are sisters. Coincidentally Harrison's sisters, Palmer & Brigham plus Brigham's finance', Cameron and their friend, Tab were visiting from Iowa for the weekend. It was fun to catch up with them between some exciting Class II and Class III rapids. Thanks to Harrison for being an awesome guide...we all had a blast!
Back at KOA we moved from the Tee Pee to tent camping. We have another lovely spot with a beautiful view of Mt. Princeton (center backdrop). Hey, we stood on top of that peak!!
PS: While we were rafting on Sunday, Kata & Robyn were climbing Mt. Yale. Congratulations to them for bagging their 2nd 14er. Bob & I hiked Mt. Yale a year ago & it's one of our favorite mountains.
Mt. Yale's trail goes up through a lovely green valley.

ReplyDeleteSo great that we connected with some Iowa cousins. That would be a fun summer job (for Harrison...not me though. That rafting trip was exciting enough that I don't need to go again. LOL). :-)
