Bob & I tackled a challenging mountain bike ride today. It started with 12 miles of climbing. Most of that was very steep & in parts the incline hit a 23% grade. We believe the trees in the above photo are Bristle Cone...and if so they are probably 1,000 + years old. Can anyone verify these are Bristle Cone? We're not positive.
The route was beautiful!
Love this pic of Bob coming up the trail.
We again reached snow but this time turned around as it became too difficult to walk through the frequent slippery patches.
We descended down a slightly different route & came across these unique flowers.
California Snow Flower. Pretty & interesting.
After 4.5 hrs on the bike we arrived back at the cabin tired & hungry. We collapsed on the floor & watched a movie. Rallying now for a trip to the grocery store & Ace Hardware.
