This was her 1st multi-pitch climb & she did GREAT!
Jerome & Ashley thrilled to be at the top of Crystal Crag!
Jerome started rock climbing when he was at Northwestern College in Iowa. There wasn't much outdoor climbing nearby but there was an indoor rock gym perfect for practicing his climbing skills.
Since college Jerome has sought out outdoor climbing like Devil's Tower & other places in The Black Hills for he & Ashley to conquer. Pretty cool that Bob could do some outdoor climbing with them on this trip!
And lucky we have Pete...the most experienced & fun outdoor adventurer we know. He was the ideal guide to take this crew up Crystal Crag... just one of the many climbs in his Mammoth backyard.

Just a short glissade on the snow to complete the climb.
They all slid safely back to me at Crystal Lake where I was hanging out after my Red Cone hike.

All I can say is WOW....being fearful of heights I take my hat off to the climbers...beautiful shots....thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYep - not a sport for the "fear of heights" folk. I stuck to the ground this week & opted for hiking that day & another day hung out with Harley while Bob, Jerome & Ashley went rock climbing.
