8-9-14

Me: Today we drove from Aspen over Independence Pass 12,095' (The Continental Divide) to Leadville. Bob, Harley & I were going to cheer on some friends racing the Leadville 100.
Kimo coming towards the finish line. Looking great with a time of 7 hrs & 55 minutes. This makes his 8th Leadville 100 race, all under 8 hours (which is elite)!
Cean with the fist pump heading up the final stretch. It was his first Leadville 100. He finished in a time of 10 hrs and 28 minutes. Awesome!
Spectators lining the street leading to the finish.
Here come Bill & Beth (father & daughter) and Beth's uncles. They have made this a family affair for years and always come through smiling. 11 hrs & 31 minutes.
At the finish with two 1st time finishers (just over 11 hours). Larry & Jay were on an adrenaline high and couldn't stop talking about how HARD that race was. Boy, do we know! Leadville 100 is the most grueling event I have ever done (Bob & I did it in 2012).
Larry with a dirty face and the best smile!
Congratulations Larry and everyone else who conquered Leadville 100!

  1. You and Bob know how difficult this race is....so nice that you knew so many people that completed the race this year. Hope each day you feel better!
