Me: Harley: "Come on, Mom! I am ready to hike. Grab your backpack and let's go!"
Harley and I drove to Flagstaff yesterday and spent the night at Heidi's. Heidi, her daughter, Taylor and Taylor's grandma are in Flag for the weekend. This morning Heidi went biking with a friend while the Harley and I hiked.
It rained all night (which was so needed) but luckily it was dry for our 3 hour trek. More rain came soon after we were done.
Harley is happy in the cooler temps!
Made it to the top of Mt. Elden (9,300'). Here is the Mt. Elden lookout tower.
Mt. Elden survey marker.
We found a spot with a view and ate our treats. Mt. Humphrey's is in the background.
Many Aspen trees and a few with carvings.
Dog Tired! Harley insisted I carry her back down the mountain! haha.
Harley wasn't tired at all. She loves to hike mountains & is my special workout buddy. Wish Bob could have joined us but after brunch and shopping with Heidi, Taylor and Anne in Flagstaff, Harley and I drove back to Phoenix to pick up Bob at the airport. We skipped fireworks (too tired) but have tomorrow to enjoy together.
Happy 4th of July! Thankful for our freedom and to those who fight for it!
Another full day doing what you love....so happy Harley loves to hike as much as you do....our fire works are tonight (Sat)....we can see the high ones from our house. Cooler temps and less humidity....love it!
