Me: Bob and I did a new hike today. It started on the top of Carson's Pass next to the ranger station.
It's an easy hike with great views!
Within the first mile you pass by Frog Lake.
And then to Winnemucca Lake (our turn around). There are several other trail options to continue on including the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) which is a route that takes hikers from Mexico to Canada!
The hike we did (4 miles) would be even better earlier in the summer when the wild flowers are blooming. Most are dried up now.
 A Harley approved hike. :-)
Later we found a beach in South Shore that we hadn't been to before (Timber Cove). It has the longest wooden pier. Pretty cool.
Talked a local into letting us try out his slack line. Bob looks good in the photo but neither he nor I could do more than 3 steps before losing our balance. And both of us were too chicken to get over the water where we'd for sure get wet when we fell.

Another new spot we found today was "Downtown Cafe" in Meyers. A great little breakfast and lunch joint. We had eggs & french toast there before our hike. We love new finds in the area and today we had three!
