Me: We are still not feeling great but did go to Regan Beach today.
Even used the garage sale raft. Harley knew what to do and jumped right in. :-)
It was windy and rough so we didn't go far. Just long enough to get wet from the waves.

Warren is the oldest, then mom, Janet, Mary and Sonja.
Tonight I found out that my uncle Warren (mom's brother) passed away this afternoon. I'm very sad to hear this news as he was a special person. Uncle "Waz" was a strong farmer and a community man his whole life; instrumental in bringing Elk Horn to a popular Danish tourist stop. He helped with the windmill that was shipped from Denmark and rebuilt in Elk Horn (1976) as well as getting the Danish Museum established in town. Warren was always involved with school, sports, town festivals and supporting local businesses. He was a man of faith, active in church and displayed his christianity boldly but humbly. He had the most contagious smile (reminds me of my dad that way) and brought light into every room he entered. He knew everyone it seemed and made all those who knew him feel special. He had a razor sharp memory and knew immediate & extended family's whereabouts and what they did. Warren was genuinely interested and proud of his family, friends and community. He will join in heaven his wife Gudren (who passed away last year), his daughter Gwen who died of cancer a few years ago and his son, Dean who died 12 years ago at age 52.
Warren's other daughter, Paulette was with him during this past week. My mom had just had a nice visit with him on Friday for which she is so thankful. We all rejoice in the wonderful life he had and that he is happy in heaven now. He has many grand-children and great-grand children that will carry on his amazing spirit.
You will be missed, Uncle Warren!
I took this photo off my cousin, Paulette's Facebook page. This is Paulette's wedding day as she is about to be walked down the aisle by her dad (Warren). Love this photo.
Sorry to hear of your uncle's passing, but rejoice that he is with his family. The yard sale item you purchased look good....how are you guys feeling???
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen. Both Bob and I are feeling better again. :-)
