Part 3 of Vegas with my sis ...

Me: Have you seen the TV show Pawn Stars? The shop featured is in Las Vegas and Bob gave me two silver dollars to try and sell there.

The shop isn't very big and there was a line out the door of tourists waiting to check out the store. Luckily it didn't take long to get in and we had a good time browsing the different items.

Then I went to the sales counter and showed my 2 coins. They offered $20 for each coin: SOLD! It was a bit more than we thought they'd pay and it was fun to sell something there.

Earlier in the day we came across this sweet girl playing the didgeridoo. I bought a hat and souvenir shirt that she made. I wore the hat the rest of our trip.

Show time! Terry Fator the ventriloquist was fantastic!!! He's already a great singer but then throws his voice through his puppet characters. The range of songs his puppets perform is amazing! Carol and I highly recommend this show; funny, clean, and talent galore.

After the show we went straight to the chocolate shop in Ceaser's Palace that we had discovered earlier in the day. We split a salted caramel chocolate shake. Mmmm.

And then off to Freemont Street which is a throw back to old Las Vegas with casinos like The Golden Nugget.

There were street vendors, musicians and we saw Elvis!

After seeing the lights of Freemont Street we returned to our hotel to hit the hay. That was one fun filled day in Vegas! :-)

Thursday, January 24th

 On our way out of town Carol and I stopped at Mandalay Bay to see the shark exhitbit. It wasn't open yet so we had their breakfast buffet instead. OH MY...did we eat everything! Eggs, bacon, pancakes, oatmeal, bagels, cheese, sausage, pecan sticky rolls, bread pudding, cake and ice cream. We couldn't help ourselves...it was all so good.

Lastly - were we big winners in Vegas?! Well yes, I turned my 1 dollar bill into $5 on this panda slot machine. I was certain the panda would be good luck and he was (just didn't dare bet any more). The first day I lost a $1.00 at a slot machine so my total trip winnings: $3.00. Woo hoo! We had hoped to play a little Bingo (a game we thought we could handle) but it never worked out. Maybe next time.

So happy my sister, Carol could join me for 24 hours in Vegas. Fun to hang out, see a show and sight see.
