Me: Today was a travel day, a very LONG travel day back to the states. We left our hotel in Guilin, China at 9am and arrived into San Jose, CA at 7:30pm on the same day. Calculate the 16 hour time difference, a 6 hour layover in Shanghai, a plane change in Los Angeles and 2 hours sleep with the flu = a bit rough. :-(

Skyline in Shanghai

We rallied during our layover in Shanghai to see a few sites.
This is famous Yu Gardens, filled to the brim with people shopping and eating. We enjoyed a dim sum lunch at a funky joint in the complex.
 The architecture is always fascinating.
We had to walk across Nine Corners Bridge; bringing all who do good luck and fortune.
Everyone was taking a photo of this hotel so I did too. It's the PEACE hotel in the Shanghai Bund area (along the Huangpu River) and is where all the visiting dignitaries and rich people stay.
Shanghai was our last stop (albeit short) in China. The city seemed more modern/westernized and business oriented. It's a port city on the east coast and has the most colorful and spectacular skyline.
Good-bye to China and the wonderful friends and memories we made here. Thank you M, Tuba Dad, Ro and Ree for bringing us along on this amazing adventure. We will treasure it and the time spent with you always!
