 Me: Merry Christmas from China!
It's COLD here but we're having a GREAT time!
Our travel group in Tian'amen Square.
The good thing about sightseeing in December is it's not crowded.
Us in front of the Forbidden Palace and Mao Tse Tung.
Ro & Ree got panda wind masks. They really helped them with the cold and made us smile!
Interesting angles and beautiful colors in the architecture.
The forbidden city was magnificent and huge!
We walked a lot yet covered only a small portion of the entire grounds.
Soldier guarding his post. Brrr.

The girls were so cute in their white coats. They loved to see the snow.
After The Forbidden Palace we were off to Hutong. A historical district that is 1 square mile of very small one room dwellings. This area houses 10,000 residents!
We were able to see the area by rickshaw and then were fortunate to be hosted by one of the families for a homemade meal. The food was delicious and it was neat to see their quaint homes.

Beijing is our kind of city - bicycles everywhere!

This is the local bike shop set up on the corner.
After Hutong we enjoyed touring the CCCWA  (Chinese Center of Children's Welfare Agency).  All the children were able to do some Chinese writing and paper cutting crafts. It was very special to see the department where Ro and Ree were matched with their wonderful parents.
