12-1-12

Me: 7:13am and the race begins. The 1st lap riders started out for 2 miles on the pavement and then got on the dirt singletrack for their 15 mile loop before they tagged their teammate to head out on their 15 mile loop.
#65 was in the lead from the start to finish. He did 11 laps solo, 165 miles total. Really impressive since he beat all the duo and quad teams too.
There is Bob (in the red jersey) on his 1st lap. He did great!
In fact, Bob did awesome on all his laps. I'm so proud of you, honey!
In between laps we had about an hour. We'd spend the 1st half hour cleaning up, getting something to eat and reading the notes that we each left for each other in the camper. James would lube our bike chains while we laid down for 10 minutes. We'd fill our camelbacks, cheer on our friends and then put on our helmets to head out again.
Go Bob go!
Dusk. A few riders out on their final lap.
Coming into the finish line!

Bob and I each did 5 laps and finished with 10 laps total. It was a better performance than we expected. Really fun to hang out with our friends and race.
Team "Him and Her" came in 2nd place for the co-ed duo teams. Woo hoo!
Had a great day racing with you at Dawn to Dusk, honey! Congratulations!

  2. Yes, I am resting. I couldn't sleep last night and then today I have a crazy migraine that I often get after a race. Bummer. :-( But, it really was a fun day! Happy December, Karen! :-)
