Today 3/13) was our BIG hill climbing day. We'd be going 24 miles to the top of the pass at 10,000ft.
We were lucky to have a morning with clouds.
As the day progressed the clouds disappeared and soon the cactus would too.
The higher the elevation the greener the mountains.
We reached the top!
And we were greeted by llamas.
I tried to hug the baby llama but was a little scared.
Another llama. Also a dog, a cat and a pig were hanging out at the pass. :-/
Everyone succeeded in biking up this tough hill and all were thrilled!
Cheers to our awesome group!
Now the fun part...downhill.
We practically coasted the whole way to Tafe'...the town by the lake. It was such a gorgeous ride down the mountain!
The hills were incredibly green...Ireland green!
And pretty horses & cows spotted the fields in every direction.
We stayed at Augustine's home (friend of Santiago's) and unfortunately I didn't take any photos of his place. I did get this cute photo of a local little girl hanging out in front of her mom's shop. So sweet!
Didn't realize that Argentina was so diverse...love the green mts.! The little girl is really cute!
ReplyDeleteWe did see many changes in terrain and weather. Was a good perspective in just a small area of the country. Would love to see more of Argentina. Maybe we'll get there again one day.
