11-7-16

On our country tour we ate at some charming restaurants with delicous homemade food.
The town of Mudgee had a rural Iowa feel.
Also around Mudgee were many wineries. We visited a couple & bought a bottle of merlot.
We also squeezed in croquet. I am the current Australian croquet champion (of our group). ;-)
Look what we found... BOB JANE! I guess BOB JANE is a tire and auto stop. We saw more than one in Australia. Pretty cool!
We made a stop to see this radio telescope. It relayed messages from the Apollo program. Not sure what it does today (can't remember).
I really enjoyed our stops in local craft shops & art galleries. I liked this cow painting!
More roses along our route inspiring me to plant rose trees in our yard in AZ.
Throughout our country drive we saw many very old Australia saloons. They were almost always two stories and had the upper balcony like this.

Tomorrow Bob & I fly to New Zealand to spend 6 days. Thankful for the days we had in Sydney & the time spent together with Martin, Ruth, Adrian, Daniel & Alecia. They are great friends & have been so welcoming!!!
