Me: The Sonoran Desert Millipede.
Millipedes have two sets of legs per segment (verses Centipedes that have 1 set of legs per segment). Millipedes have round bodies verses the flat topped bodies of Centipedes. Arizona Millipedes are reddish brown in color. This Millipede (+ many more) was seen on my hike this morning.
Also on my hike was this guy & a few others just like him. From a distance it looked like a lady bug. But a red tick? Don't like that…not at all. :-(
Update: It's NOT a red tick…it's a RED VELVET MITE (they are harmless)!! :-)
First time seeing these little bugs. They do look velvety but I didn't touch him.
I would not have touched either one....just look!
