Martin: Details in the Lions Palace.
Stuck on Yoga @ 4,035 ft. (not 14,035 ft) ;-)
Quartz Peak is one of Bob's & my favorite hikes in the valley. It has a unique summit with white quartz boulders to mess around on & have lunch.
6 mile round trip hike (rated strenuous) that gains 2,500 ft in elevation. It was chilly enough on top for a stocking cap! I brought Howard here to add variety to his personal training. It was his 1st time hiking QP and he loved it.
Quartz Peak is in the Estrella Mountain range (about a 1.5 hour drive to the trailhead). 9 miles of the drive included 4 wheel drive to get over the rocks & through the deep mud. We nearly got stuck!
Here's evidence of my struggle to free the truck. Phew, so glad we made it out.
Fun morning!
