Conditions were so dusty you could barely see the rider in front of you for the first couple miles. Each lap was 26 miles. Bob and I rode all 4 laps together and were able to come into our aid station area at the same time. Each stop James lubed our dirty bike chains and we grabbed new water bottles while eating PB&J sandwiches, Chicken and Stars soup & Pringles. This really hit the spot and was critical to keep us going!
After 8 hours and 4 minutes I crossed the finish line for the win! 1st female overall! :-)
Bob had an awesome race too (8 hours & 7 minutes)! It was one of the toughest days ever for me on a bike. Bob was so supportive out there & I'm thrilled we had a great race!
Now, Bob...could you go and wash your face?
