Me: Bob is back!
Here's a pic from simulator training with co-trainee, Larry. It's a 737-800. Bob says the new sim has really good visuals. Doesn't that look real looking out their window?

Me: Duck Patrol.

Harley was quite surprised to find 2 ducks in our pool yesterday. She made it her "job" to bark, pace the deck, bark, circle the water & bark some more. Nice work, Harley!

Me: Still had a migraine this morning...
but hiking with Anna & Harley honestly made me feel better.
Anna jumping for joy over the usual brown mountain turned green with sprouts of grass.

Me: Can you find the road runner?

Bad migraine day. Hate 'em. Hope it's gone tomorrow.

Martin: After milkshakes and coffees we checked the maps to try out another panning spot located by a creek in a nearby camping area. Lucky for us that there was still some water flowing. I have never seen so many swarms of bugs as down by that creek but for some reason, they seemed to leave us alone, so we could get on with our excavating in peace. As luck would have it, we found a good crack in the bedrock that had not been cleared for a long time and it had gold flakes at the bottom. It was a slow process and we came across it just before it was time to pack up. Maybe next time. Had to tell Daniel ten times that it was time to go as he was certain that something worthwhile was in the bottom of that crack … as I said, next time. Home and our last evening meal at the farm. I managed to get out under the stars without any clouds about. Amazed at the number of satellites crossing the sky from all directions and stopped counting after fifteen.
Me: Sharing this cute photo from Pat & Bob. The girls had an overnight stay and play day at Grandma & Grandpa's (better known as Wela & Bob-Bob). Pic shows them enjoying lunch in the summer home they built. Very nice. We must eat there on our next visit!

I was back in Scottsdale for a 70 mile road ride today. Bob is back in Dallas for simulator training.

Martin: Past sunset out the front of the farm. I think the smoke haze from distant bushfires added to the colour.
Me: Bob and I worked again at the Lifetime Fitness Cycle Camp.
We led quite a large group to Bartlett Lake. 66 miles.
Beautiful day to ride!

Martin: What else do you do when you have to sit in the back of the car for hours? We are talking economy class here.

Back to the cottage again. Had a bit of time before dinner to head across the road from the farm to have a search amongst the expanse of the old diggings. Would have been so interesting to see what it was like when this area was active with the countless tents and fire places burning in the evenings. Not so certain about the sanitary conditions! Makes you wonder how many artefacts and gold finds are still buried in the area, let alone, what unfound gold is left. Daniel swung the metal detector around till his arms were hurting. No luck for us besides plenty of bullet casings again, an old belt buckle and a few buttons. We also spotted a zillion rabbits and a few kangaroos. Patchy cloud arrived in the late afternoon and my sky watching was postponed to the following evening.
Me: American Airlines.

Cool snow photo that makes me think of all the storms across the country lately. Bob and I worked all day at the Lifetime Fitness Cycle Camp. It's a 4 day event, held in Scottsdale with over 200 attendees (most from MN, CO and MI). Bob assisted in putting bikes together and then we both were guides for the 40 mile group ride.
