Today we did a bike/hike/bike outing to the top of Freel Peak.
Bob riding up the Tahoe Rim Trail (hiking shoes are in our packs).
After 12 miles we reached Freel Saddle. We put on our tennis shoes, left the bikes & hiked a steep trail another 1,000 feet up to the top of Freel Peak.
Standing on Freel Peak Summit: 10,881'
Freel Peak is the tallest mountain in the Tahoe Basin. It gave us a great perspective of Lake Tahoe & so many other peaks, lakes & trails.
Back down the path to get on the bikes.
Found the bikes & some snow....only a few small patches remain.
A little break before riding down the mountain.
7 hours on the trails biking, hiking & biking. We were pretty beat once back to the cabin! We showered & went out for Halibut at The Fresh Ketch (a local fav restaurant). Two thumbs up!
