Cutest little Zebra with Sunshine the Giraffe!
Bob & I took Kavan & Riley to the Zoo on Monday. It was a cold & cloudy day but we dressed for it!
The cold temps meant everyone except us stayed home. We had the zoo to ourselves!!! Here we are having lunch with no one around. It was comical.
It also meant we had some special treatment like feeding a LOT of lettuce to the giraffes.
I think this was my favorite thing to do & Riley was brave to be so close to Sunshine!
Giraffes are just cool. :-)
So are elephants!!
Then it was off to ride a camel. This was a highlight too!
Riley was a bit leary at first but then she wanted more. She also wanted to ride the cow, horse & about any other animal she saw after the camel ride. :-)
Kavan didn't want to ride the camel but he liked seeing the Cheetahs. "They are fast!" he says! He's right.

The goats were funny!
They put on a long show of jumping from stand to stand, butting heads & locking horns.
Fun to see the animals through the eyes of children!
We had a great time! We'll be back to see the Sunshine again.
PS: Thanks to Pat & Bob for the zebra & sock monkey hats (Christmas present). They were perfect for the zoo & kept our heads warm! PSS: I hope no one is at the zoo next time we visit... #spoiled. ;-)
Nothing like having the zoo all to yourselves...you were able to see the animals up close and personal...you and Bob are great with Riley and Kavan!
ReplyDeleteDon't think we'll get the zoo to ourselves like that again! We really enjoyed the afternoon there. We got such a kick out of feeding the giraffe (my favorite!). Camel ride was pretty cool too. :-) The kids were great!
