1-2-14

MartinDaniel and his friend Max, before heading off to a barn dance.
Me: New Year's Eve party - Cowboy style. :-)

Our friend, Janet held a New Year's party on Tuesday night. It was so much fun having everyone come in cowboy attire. Lots of boots, plaid and tassels. I even stayed up until midnight (huge surprise since our normal bedtime is 8pm). Only wish that Bob could have been at the hoedown too.

My new year's resolutions look pretty similar from year to year but here are some of my goals for 2014 (in no particular order)...
1) Eat better! Which means less chocolate. True, it's time to cut way back (I'm sad about it too).
2) Cook more. With our new kitchen I'm having more fun trying some recipes out. Love our kitchen!
3) Increase fitness & lose a stubborn few pounds. Hopefully #1 and #2 will help this goal.
4) House remodeling continued. Though we accomplished a lot in 2013 we still have some things to complete. Floors and doors mainly and hopefully a bit of landscaping.
5) Get organized. I'm making progress but it's always a battle on my office desk, in the craft room and on my computer (anyone else need to clean up a million e-mails and photos?). Even a little at a time helps.
6) Take some classes. Maybe an on-line photography class and local art class.
7) Work and Play. I'm happy with how Bob and I balance this in our lives so I'm just wishing for more adventures outside of work in 2014.
8) Family and friends. Quality time with all the people we love!
9) Focus on faith. I'm desiring more attention to my relationship with God, church and reaching out to those in need. Up to me to carve out this time in 2014.
10) Nurture our marriage and love one another!

What are your 2014 goals?!

  3. I'm having a difficult time writing....leaving words out, and when I proof read I read them as I want them to say.....thought it was interesting that both you and Martin had a cowboy theme for New Year's Eve.

  4. It's hard to write down New Year's goals. The start of a year is a good place to commit to improving or doing new things. Good job, Karen!!
