Visiting the Masai elementary school.
There is a small school in the Masai village we toured. The kids were eager to share a song & count for us.
Once of a certain age these kids walk to attend a larger school in the area which is for many surrounding villages. I believe that school teaches up through high school. We have heard these schools are new and a wonderful education for these children.
We enjoyed the enthusiasm of these kids and their desire to hug & hold our hands. Very sweet, kind and beautiful children.
Times like this I wish we could speak their language.
And then...sometimes a touch or a smile communicates everything.

The children of Masai Tribe. LOVE...

I heart these adorable kids.

Welcome to a Masai Tribe...
We were warmly welcomed and toured their village.
First some traditional games were demonstrated.
Singing & dancing too.
The Masai methods.
Starting fire.
Us women gotta stick together. :-)
The Masai make some beautiful jewelry and crafts.
We were happy to shop & bring a few items home.
We toured their interesting mud huts.
And were invited to take many photos.
Many Masai villages are situated around the Ngorongoro Crater. A few of these tribes allow visitors to get a view of their semi-nomadic life.
Not sure I could properly write all about The Masai but I definitely encourage you to look up the Masai Tribes of Africa to read about them.
I am so glad that David, Bob & I had a chance to visit.
The kids definitely got my attention and I treasure the pictures I have of their sweet faces. I will post Masai children photos tomorrow.

A fave photo from the Serengeti.

Back at the ranch we hung out with this cool crew. Night 2 in the Serengeti.
Jacob was really fun to talk with. He wants to be a Safari guide one day & we sure hope that happens for him. He is knowledgable, personable & all around good guy. Thanks, Jacob for your hospitality!
The morning of Day 3 we drove out of the Serengeti and headed to Ngorongoro Crater. About a 2 hour drive.
I think this is a funny video on our drive out of the Serengeti. Emanuel passing another safari jeep on this long dirt road. Emanuel was a great driver and a funny guy too. Loved talking with him each day about African animals, his family (he is married & has a 2 year old little girl) & life in Tanzania.

11/1: Day 2 in the Serengeti continued...
David, Emanuel, Bob & me...what a fun foursome!
And we are off...we resume our positions of popping our heads out the top of the jeep with our cameras & binoculars ready for action.
Lion action!
Elephant action!
Cheetah Action!
Buffalo Action!
Sleeping hyena.
Sleeping Simba.
"Don't run over the lions tail!!"
PS: We nearly did when Emanuel was backing up the jeep.
Just missed it. Phew!
Lions on the move.
Us on the move!
"Hang on!"

There is more safari to come. :-)
