Wheels 4 Water Day!

Wheels 4 Water
February 23, 2019
What an AMAZING Day!
“WELL DONE” Wheels 4 Water!! We did it! Clean water wells are heading to Uganda because of YOU. I am humbled & so grateful to our Arizona cycling community, friends, family, HEAR ME ROAR Foundation for their generous $5,000 Wheels 4 Water gift and to our Wheels 4 Water sponsors Global Bikes, Hope Church & Elevate Coffee for your wonderful support. TOGETHER we raised $21,000! YES... that means not only did we meet our initial goal of $10,500 for 1 water well in Bugunga but we raised enough funds for a 2nd water well for another desperate village in Uganda. WOW! The 5k Walk 4 Water also exceeded their $ goal for 1 well going to Bukaye-Bulindi! Blessings abound! 3 water wells will soon be providing clean water to our brothers & sisters in Africa! Thank you everyone 4 your hand in this project.

Our appreciation to Water 4 Kids International for your tireless efforts to keep reaching the remote & most needy villages in Uganda. This organization has provided 620 wells in Uganda and there are many more villages in need of clean water.

Attached are photos from our fun Ride & Walk on February 23rd! We had 150 registered riders! It was a chilly start but probably one of the most beautiful bike rides with views of snow capped mountains all around - loved it! Afterwards was a celebration with food, music & raffle prizes. Thank you businesses & friends for your awesome raffle gifts.

I want to give special thanks to Thomas Peterson (playing the National Anthem beautifully), Josh Maule for Emceeing Wheels & Walk 4 Water, Melissa Baker with Water 4 Kids (you’re awesome), Nicole Townsend for these great cycling photos, Chris Metcalfe & Scott Steele SAG support), all volunteers who helped with a smile! Bob Meneely (my best supporter - I love you), friends; Olivia Chavez, Steve Elwell, Jenn Schell, Jim Troxel, Heidi Clayton, Kaylee Barton, Anna McShane, Lisa Pivin, & Team Vitesse. I really could go on but these crazy friends went the extra mile with Wheels 4 Water. You’re all the best...THANKS! #teamwork #4cleanwater

  2. Thank you, Karen. I am so happy knowing that we raised enough $ for not 1 but 2 water wells. It shows what many people working together can do! It was a fun day on the bike for cyclists and fun for walkers and visitors who came to the event too. A blessed day and blessing others in Uganda!
