3-6-17

On 3/4 Bob & I flew from Buenos Aires to Salta.
When we arrived at the hotel we met Rick (right); he's the owner of Two Wheel View & head bike leader for this Argentina tour. We also met Ben (23 years old) from Alberta, Canada. This was Ben's 1st big excursion on his own & this tour would be the most miles he's ever biked.
That night we all had dinner including Santiago (middle) who is from Argentina & was joining us for the bike tour as a welcomed local guide. Santiago has led this trip before for kids (ages 14-18) from Argentina & Canada. More background on Santiago later...he's an interesting guy!
The following day (3/5) Rick, Santiago, Bob & I worked on the bikes; changing tires, brakes & setting up the bike bags, water bottles & more.
I have to highlight that our Delvino Boutique hotel was really charming. Bob & I enjoyed a 3 night stay here & loved the morning breakfast spread. What a treat to have rice with milk, a variety of homemade marmalades on toast, fresh OJ, eggs, croissants, custard tarts & much more.
The Delvino courtyard & pool area was lovely too.
Since arriving in Argentina we've noticed the huge number of stray dogs...but they have all been sweet & well behaved. They are usually hanging out in front of restaurants, in stores & even in churches. They don't beg & appear healthy as the locals seem to take care of them. Remarkable!
Bob's new canine friend (don't tell Harley).
Another favorite photo of mine!

  1. Isn't it great that the dogs appeared to be taken care of...I won't tell Harley that Bob found a new friend!
