Here's the scenery on our drive to the trailhead yesterday. It was spectacular! Rock cliffs covered in green lichen with mountains beyond displaying snow. It did not feel like we were just an hour from Phoenix!
Here's our group of 10 (minus Rich & Kata…and 3 dogs too). It was very cold at the trailhead & we bundled up!
Once hiking uphill it didn't take long to start shedding clothes. Can you make out Kata & Janet?
Snow on the trail!!! We live in Phoenix & get excited about that! Aaron & Jenn with Jay, Sally & Charley the dog!
Cute pic of Laurel with 4 Peaks in the distance.
This is the photo of the day! Love this lone tree, the snow, the mountains & sweet Charley with her mom, Sally! :-)
Around 1pm we had not reached the waterfall yet so 3 of us decided to turn around (Sally, Janet & I). With the pace we were doing, plus the muddy steep trail, we chose to miss the waterfall to be sure we could make it back to the car by dark.
The rest of the crew powered another hour up stream to see Reavis Falls! So cool. Nice work guys!! That water is flowing strong from all the recent rain!
Funny how Sally, Janet & I had the 3 dogs. Harley, Bobby Dazzle & Charley were loving this day! A rare sitting moment as they wait for a treat from Sally. :-)
While it would have been nice to see the falls (we'll be back) there was no disappointment in this day. We loved our leisurely hike out and soaked in the beauty.
Back at our favorite tree with our favorite canines.
I just really enjoyed visiting & getting to know these wonderful women more!

My Garmin quit but I'm guessing we did around 15 miles. Us & the dogs were back to the car around 3:15pm & headed back to Phoenix. The dogs were sacked out the whole way! :-) The waterfall crew made it out by dark too (I believe by 5pm). Thank you, Rich for organizing this fun adventure!!
I definitely want to bring Bob back here. If only I can arrange for the beautiful snow to be in place too! What a treat!
