Me: Well, I sure miss having mom around. Here's our good-bye hug before mom headed to the airport (we were a little teary). Mom is back in Iowa now and I've seen photos of her already making the rounds visiting family there. She's in good hands!
While mom was in AZ we had a great time seeking out garage sales. She used to be the garage sale queen back in the day so that is where my bargain obsession comes from. Here is a cute pink glass bunny we got last Saturday for .10 cents. It holds a little tea light and is a timely find for Easter!
This is a good Easter find too! Ceramic Easter basket for $2. I have it on our kitchen counter.
Bird plate for .25 cents! I see a couple of these are for sale on e-bay for $25. Can't decide if I should keep or try to sell? It is a very pretty plate!
A basket of never used Beannie Babies! .50 cents each. We thought Riley would have fun playing with them. Also bought a larger adorable panda bear (reminds us of China) and Easter bunny stuffed animals. We bought a kids wooden croquet set $2 (it's awesome), sidewalk chalk and water color paint ($2). 3 large boxes of Christmas bulb ornaments ($5 - for future craft projects). And a cheese crock ($1- but I'll probably never use it). :-)
Lying on the ground is our $5 antique day bed purchase. It needs a good paint job & then maybe (fingers crossed) I can sell it on Craig's list for a profit. Hmm, what should I ask?
All this in one Saturday morning! How much more fun can a mom & daughter have?! haha. :-)
You and your mother made awesome purchases....there is another thing we have in common...my mother loved to go to auctions...she finished my first apartment with auction purchases...I still have most of them...it's my way of having mom with me. I'm sitting here watching it snow like crazy...Sunday the temp was in the 80's...crazy Ohio weather!!!

ReplyDeleteSnowing, that is nuts. It's the middle of April! That is neat about your mother - very special memories. Yes, I think I should keep the plate. Will paint the bed and see how it looks. Kinda fun!
