Me: Le Mars, Iowa. The ice cream capital of the world!
Emily, Mom, Bob, Uncle Roger and Aunt Mary (my mom's sister) at the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Shop. Le Mars is home of Blue Bunny so of course we had to sample several flavors! We stayed here last night (at Roger and Mary's home, not the ice cream shop).
My cousin, Laurie and I in front of Laurie's home in Orange City, Iowa. Laurie is the daughter of Roger and Mary. We drove to Orange City this morning via Hawarden, where we stopped to visit Ashely & Jerome. Jerome was already at school - he teaches high school science and coaches football and basketball. Jerome is also into rock climbing. Ashley showed us around their town and we got to see their cute home and 2 doggies. Ashley works in Le Mars at Anytime Fitness as a personal trainer. She is getting her masters as well as training for her upcoming marathon (her 1st one - The Des Moines Marathon on Oct 19). Good luck, Ashley!
Back at Laurie's house, we saw some cute furniture that she buys and paints. Love!
Then to the local meat locker for some dried beef and smoked cheese. Mmmm.
Wonderful to spend time with Laurie, Rog and Mary (we even hit a thrift store)!
In the afternoon we hooked up with Jerod, Aubyn and their three kids. They took us to Pumpkin Land! Brielle, Bob and Judson.
Bob told Brielle and Judson that he would buy them any pumpkin they wanted but they had to be able to carry it back to the car. :-)
Cooper was ok being the pumpkin and getting carried by his dad, Jerod.

This evening we toured the Northwestern campus and watched a bit of the women's volleyball game. Jerome, Ashley, me, Whitney (Jacey's girlfriend) and Jacey. Jacey plays football and will graduate from Northwestern in December. Then he'll start farming full time with his dad. Monte and Emily are excited about that!
