Martin: This is a piece of Jarrah and is a common native of Western Australia. It's about 45mm thick at the moment. Adrian is going to use it for the top of a hall table that he will construct at school next year for wood technology. He wet the surface to bring out the grain. We are lucky to have such a range of timbers to choose from in Aus. 'Jarrah' is the Aboriginal name for this eucalyptus and it looks very similar to Honduras mahogany when it is finished.
Me: Evening stroll around the golf course with our stocking caps on. Love the chilly nights!
Jane - After the heat of the summer I'm sure the cooler temps are welcomed.
ReplyDeleteMartin - This is a beautiful piece of wood. Would love to see the finished product.
