Close-ups in the Serengeti.

I haven't posted these animal shots on the blog yet. They are from our safari in November. These pictures were all taken by David Love...friend from our Kilimanjaro hike and who also shared the 4 day Safari with us. I'm so glad he was there...not only because David is fun to hang out with but because he had a camera with a zoom lens. :-) Love his photos. Here are a few of them...

Sunday morning church at Mountain Park Church in Ahwatukee.

Christmas Theme: "What Gives?". Great message on giving, receiving & being part of miracles by giving.

Sunday afternoon crafts at home. Making 2017 Christmas ornaments. Bob made the wooden shape with a jigsaw and I did the painting & writing. This year's ornament is AFRICA with a heart over Tanzania. :-)

Sunday evening birthday wishes to Bob's dad. Bob & I sang happy birthday (poorly) over the phone to Bob in California. :-) He & Pat were having a good day celebrating. Happy birthday to my awesome father-in-law!

Misc pics from the past week...

Shopping for new eyeglasses for Bob.

We became Costco members last week & the glasses Bob bought already make the membership worth it!

Christmas came early for me! I got a new puff jacket from Bob's parents. Thank you so much, Pat & Bob. I can't wait to use it in cold Phoenix...hahaha...I mean Tahoe & Colorado...& maybe Kilimanjaro again one day. :-) PS: I picked the bright yellow color so Bob won't lose me.

And this Christmas gift arrived from Karen & Charlie! It's an original painting by Charlie (a super talented artist). Click on the photo to enlarge to see this painting better. It's an incredible piece (22x19 framed) of Bob & I on Mt. Kilimanjaro (day 5). Thank you!

Bob was flying for 6 days and I got myself to the gym to lift weights with friend & trainer, Brad. This Saturday Bob & I will be attending his wedding. We're excited for Brad & Charity's special day.

Ice skating night!

Downtown Phoenix does a nice job with "City Skate". Each year they close down a block on Central Ave to install a cute ice rink with Christmas tree, lights, music, skate rentals & more.

It makes for a fun night of being goofy.

Walking on think ice? :-) Nope...looking good guys!

The chill off the ice made it feel a bit like winter for us Arizonans!

Even Ellie got in on the ice action. She was loving it...skating around the tree several times. :-)

Glad these 3 could join plus, David, Carol, Joan & Dean too (spectators). Afterwards we stopped at April's work for supper.

PS: This was my 1st time wearing my own white figure skates. I bought them at a thrift store in Iowa (a year or 2 ago). I LOVE  them! It's what I grew up using on the creeks & ponds of Iowa :-)
