Bob gets here tomorrow night. In the meantime we'll be enjoying the pine trees & cool temps at the cabin.

A few pics from mom's 90th birthday party at the farm yesterday. It was a lovely day to sit outside & visit.

Happy 90th birthday to my beautiful mom!

Today is her day & I'm so glad I got to be with mom to celebrate. Tomorrow I'll post a few pics from her lovely birthday party at the farm.

Niece, Dawn & her husband Thomas's farm. Just outside Elk Horn they continue to add to the cute cabin they built & polish the renovations to the chicken coop.

New bridge & tree railing.

This chicken coop will be set up with wifi & office space for Dawn & Thomas to work far away from home. They live in Pennsylvania with their 2 young girls & work in New York City.

Now they spend longer vacations in Iowa so the girls can play with their 1st & 2nd cousins. 

It's a very pretty setting with the creek next to the cabin.

And just a mile down the road is Monte's farm where the girls will often find their 2nd cousins.

Back on the farm in Iowa.

I took a late flight to Omaha last night, rented a car & arrived at my mom's home in Atlantic around 1:30am this morning.

After a few hours of sleep I went to the Atlantic Care Center to have breakfast with mom. We spent the morning in her room visiting & organizing her closet. Mom is reading the 1st printed book; Penelope! More on the finished book in another post but mom loved The Positive Pony. :-) After a good morning mom & I drove to the farm to spend the afternoon.

Back inside Monte & Emily's home we made play-doh. Soon after Jerome & Ashley arrived with their daughters, Kennley & Baylor (3 months old). So happy they made it to the farm too! Jerome & Ahsley live in Hawarden and Janna & Andrew live in Sioux Center (both towns are in northwest Iowa & about 2.5 hours from the farm).

Our new king bed now has a new summer bedspread & pillows!

We also have a new bedroom paint color on the walls; Owl Grey.

New drapes from World Market. Yay!

And new lamps! I also painted the tops of our end tables dark grey which gave them a different look. The new feel to the bedroom goes nicely with our grey & white bathroom.

This is our new WINTER bedspread! It's a down comforter with a duvet cover (which I also love from Pottery Barn) but is was just too hot for summer. That's our old green wall paint & old lamps. Out with the old and in with the new!
