Today was a much better day!! Mom had a good night's sleep & no more vomiting. I was able to get mom embroidering which she hasn't been interested in for some time. Happy to get her hands & mind busy on this.

Then I kidnapped mom & took her on a drive. ;-) Actually I had to take mom to her surgeon's appointment (she was having oozing from her incision). No infection but she was started on an antibiotic just in case. While we were out I drove mom downtown for ice cream & then we stopped to visit with cousins Brad & Lorie. Mom couldn't get in or out of the car without nurses assisting but just being able to go on a drive was lovely!

Positive morning. Rough afternoon.

Mom & I decorated pumpkins this morning & had a good physical therapy session. But after lunch things got rough. An upset stomach led to 4x vomiting. After a few hard hours mom is sleeping now. No fever. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Mom & I had a good day today...

We did group exercise, 2 rehab sessions, played the piano, visited with other residents, ate 3 good meals & enjoyed strolling outside in the sunshine.

Great job, mom! Keep up the hard work. :-)

Great to have the whole day with mom! And wonderful to see her smile!

Mom worked hard at physical therapy. She has morning & afternoon sessions.

Slow but sure mom is getting better with a walker. Goal is to go a little further with less assistance each session. I have to admit that yesterday when I arrived & this morning were very emotional for me. It's just hard to see my mom so weak & having physical difficulty from a broken hip. She has some confusion too which I hope will improve along with the physical. Glad the therapists said her surgery is one that she can recover from fully...if she works at it. It was a good day.

Harley making it clear that she should get to go with Bob on his next work trip. "Please don't forget my bone either!" says Harley. :-)

While Bob spent the day with Harley at home in Arizona, I flew to Iowa to see my mom. Mom is now in a care center to get physical rehab after her hip surgery. I am thankful to be spending this week with mom & happy Bob is flying to Iowa on Friday for a couple days.

It was a fun day! Michael orchestrated a beautiful proposal & surprise after-party in Flagstaff. Michael & April went on a hike in the mountains where Michael popped the question. While the proposal & engagement photos took place... the rest of us organized a picnic. April's parents & brothers, Michael's parents & brother plus 10 friends of April & Michael's and us (Bob, Harley & I) were decorating, grilling hamburgers, & eating sweets. We also played games with music play'n. It was a great time for a special occasion. April was so surprised to arrive at this park & see all of us ready to shower them with L.O.V.E. Congratulations April & Michael!!
