12-18-15

Martin: Town of Tamworth, NSW. When we drove up here to look at the second hand Subaru, we stayed overnight and checked out the surrounding countryside.
Me: Today was my travel day back to Phoenix & Bob's travel day to Dallas for a long stretch of work days. Bob will be working on Christmas Eve & Day. :-( Thankful we had this past week to have an early Meneely Christmas!
And a White Christmas too!
Very different pics from Tahoe than our usual summer shots at the lake.
Standing on Lake Tahoe!
A favorite picnic spot now serving only snow cones!
Slow Stand-Up Paddle boarder?! :-/

Whether Blue (waters), Green (mountains) or White (snow) … Have a Merry Christmas!

12-17-15

Martin: Our replacement Subaru after our other one was written off. Purchased it from someone who lived in a country town named Tamworth, six hours drive from our place.

Me: We drove back from Tahoe to Pat & Bob's home yesterday. Tonight we had our Meneely Christmas dinner & celebration. It was a wonderful night!!
Traditional Cioppino for dinner and cookies for desert. My favorite are always the Nanimo Bars (as everyone in the family knows)! :-)
We also celebrated Bob's birthday which is today (December 17th). Happy birthday to an awesome & adventurous guy. Lucky to have him as my father-in-law!
Nice to catch up with Bob's sister too! M & Rod are off to Hawaii on Saturday for an Aloha Christmas with their girls.
Bob & Bob playing trains. After dinner we opened presents. So many great ones that I'll have to do a separate post on Christmas gifts! Thank you all for your thoughtfulness!
Family Foto!
Snow skiing in Tahoe and Christmas Cheer in The Bay. It was a special time with family! Blessed to be in the Meneely family!

12-16-15

Martin: On the way to Daniel's graduation. A very wet night and he was not in a good mood after breaking the screen on his phone.
Me: Bob & Bob bundled up & on the slopes at 10am. Skiing on an extra cold day on a Tuesday and a week before Christmas break = the mountain to ourselves!
There were a few other skiers on the mountain but it was joyously pretty empty.
One of those other skiers was Reeve (L). We know him from summer biking in Tahoe & we just happened to run into him at the lodge. Small world! :-)
Ya know, if you're dressed for the cold it's not that bad.
The sun was out & made for another pretty day. Lake Tahoe is in the background. Love the thick snow on the trees!
Couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces all day!
Fun hearing stories of how 2 year old Bob used to ski between his dad's legs. Bob learned to ski on this very mountain…then it was called Sierra Ski Ranch.
Up the lift for another run.
Bob & I should try to ski at least once a year. It's a fun sport! Just hard when you live in sunny Arizona. :-/
End of the day & Pat met us all (along with Flat Stanley!) This is one of my favorite photos of the 4 (I mean 5) of us. Love Pat's retro Moon Boots!

12-15-15

Martin: Did a job over at my favourite dogs place.
Me: We made it to Tahoe & it's BEAUTIFUL! It's also very COLD!! ZERO degrees at 7am this morning & we're going skiing in a couple hours. Brrrr! I will post photos tomorrow of our ski day at SIERRA Tahoe.

PS: This photo makes me sing "Walking in a Winter Wonderland…" :-)

12-14-15

Martin: My birthday cake at home. At least I could handle blowing out one candle.
Me: My favorite photo from our Dawn to Dusk race. Bob & I staying warm with our "China Hats"! We call them that because these are the hats we took to China for our Christmas 2012 trip with Bob's sister & family. The hats SAVED us in Beijing where temps were around 15 degrees F. :-/ Loved that trip!

Now we're heading to Tahoe (along with these hats) to brave the cold there. We'll be spending a couple days in Tahoe with Bob's parents & then to The Bay to have Christmas with M, Rod, Ro & Ree!

12-13-15

MartinDaniel and Alicia – 70’s party on the night of Halloween. They caught the train dressed like this but got away with it because of Halloween.
(a late post I knowHalloween!?)
Me: A plethora of photos from Dawn 2 Dusk race (Dec 12, 2015).
Heidi, Ed, Bob, Jason, Pat, & Bill before the start. They are racers #1 either going SOLO division or on a TEAM.
Hanging out at race camp…this is after Bob's first lap (he's trying to warm up).
Laurel waiting to go out on her lap. She had the perfect warm coat to wear from Geoff's swimming days!
Antique Road show comes to Dawn 2 Dusk. LOL. We're just analyzing the ancient bike that Rich still rides today!
Ed Wagner refueling for another lap. He rode solo div!
"No soup for you, Rich!" Ok…warm soup hits the spot! Eat up.
Brent & I waiting for our laps & talking about the weather. :-)
Glad we brought the blankets! I'm next on the course.
Hmmm, are we going hiking, biking, hunting or skiing. Funny attire!
Heidi going out for another lap. She too was racing SOLO div. Tough girl!
Thanks to James (background) who kept hers & all our bikes running well between laps.
Brent happy since his upcoming lap will be dry with the sun peaking out.
Bob's lap wasn't so dry! :-(
I think he found every mud puddle out there!
Oh boy...Sunday was laundry day!
It was really run teaming up with Brent & my husband!
And Rich too! Rich coming in after our team's last lap.
The 4 of us had a blast (even with the rain & cold)!
The suffering was rewarded with a beautiful sunset!
And rewarded with 2nd place too! It's not often Bob & I get to race together. Happy we could make the podium!
BFF Heidi made the podium too. 2nd place in women's Solo Div. She did 8 laps (110 miles) in tough conditions.

12-12-15

Martin: Good storm built up rapidly in the afternoon.
Me: Dawn (7:23am)...
 the race started.
Dusk (5:30pm)...
The race ended!
Our team of Rich, Brent, Bob & I took 2nd place in the Co-ed 4 Team division. It was a tough day with the cold & rain but we had a blast at the DAWN to DUSK race. Proud of our team; "2 Lefties don't make a Right"! :-)

Tomorrow I'll post some pics of what happened in between Dawn and Dusk.
