Martin: Mornings are getting cooler now that summer has gone but the days are still warm. Still no sign of an all blue sky.

Me collapsed on the asphalt after biking 100 miles. 3 friends and I climbed 7,100 ft over 100 miles at the Mining Country Challenge from Superior, AZ. Tough ride.

And next time I'll remember to put on my sun screen. :-(

Martin: Seven days to go. Already have the necessary equipment courtesy of Weldon.

 Me: The reason we get up early to bike! Arizona has some of the best sunrises and we are blessed to be able to enjoy them. Thank you, God for eyes to see, legs to exercise, fun friends, a oving family and an awesome husband to share life's journey.

 Martin: Seem to be some clouds about day after day. Been a while since we have had a clear blue sky.

Me: I've been in a painting mood lately. We painted the garage door green, the patio furniture oil rubbed bronze, the house trim dark green (in progress) and next will be the stairs. We decided against tiling the stairs for a few reasons & our solution is to paint them. We picked the light brown color shown on the bottom step. If it looks horrible there are other options later! :-)

Me: Tickets finally arrived for the Arizona Diamondbacks game against Australia in Sydney coming up in two weeks time. Really looking forward to the Friday evening match. The Diamondbacks will be playing the LA Dodgers in the season opening matches over that weekend. The weekend matches were sold out practically when they were announced but I thought it would be more interesting to watch the Australian team play the Diamondbacks.

Me: Carol & Joan stopped by this afternoon for some refreshments in the yard. Bob served us fresh sqeezed orange juice and Carol brought some yummy cake. It was a lovely visit. Mom left wtih Carol and will be staying with her for a week followed by Joan's for a week and then back with us until just after Easter when she'll fly home to Iowa. Mom has been in AZ since January and all of us have enjoyed having her around! Mom is one good egg!!! :-)

Martin: A good storm that built up in the afternoon followed by a good drenching.

Me: Mom's daily lunch request lately has been Einstein's Bagels. I usually oblige because the cheese bagel with cream cheese is pretty tasty!

Martin: A day's worth of going through all the slides that should have been tossed out over the years. Been nearly ten years since I used slide film. Some of these went back to the early seventies.

Me: Caption contest…anyone have a good one for the above or below photo?

"I'm not impressed with that banana on your head, Great Grandma."

 "Fill 'er up, please. I mean, NOW!"

Martin: Daniel sat his learner driver's license test today. 120 hours of practice ahead before he can go for his provisional licence. 

 Me: The Ahwatukee weekend carnival and chili cook off.
